A Very Good Weekend

Last weekend was just all around GREAT! I got together with my college roommates for one of the girls birthdays. She lives down the shore, and while it was not a very nice weekend we still made the most of it. We got a chance to catch up and had a little picnic and caught a few rays of sun on Saturday afternoon. Then Saturday night was party time! After a lovely dinner at a good Italian restaurant in Long Branch, we were off to the bar for a birthday celebration!

Oh and of course my one armed dance move came out and I even forced my friends into doing it with me!

It was a really fun weekend! I miss you girls tons already!

A Good Theme

If you're looking to have a themed party, I would highly recommend a Caddyshack theme. My friends and I had one last weekend at Mulligans in Hoboken, and it was definitely my favorite themed party so far. Everyone was in bright cheery colors and it was a lot of fun!

Oh and I have to mention Jen's visor, which was definitely the hit of the night!

It's Been a While

It's been a while since I've blogged, but in my defense I've been extremely busy. I've barely had a free weekend all spring! Here's a little recap of the almost 2 months it's been since my last posting:

- I went to warm sunny Florida with my mom for 5 days and had a blast! We were right between Ft. Lauderdale and Miami, and the beach and the palm trees were just beautiful! It was a very relaxing getaway...

- I went to Virginia for my cousin's graduation from James Madison University. It was a great trip and my cousin was thrilled that she had a large troop of family members there to support her!

- I saw West Side Story on broadway - if you like the movie I recommend seeing the show! Just be prepared for a few songs being done in Spanish.

- The most exciting news of this whole recap is that I found out that I'm going to have a little niece come September!!! (or maybe early October)

So it's been a good two months!

Some Good Genes

This past weekend my family celebrated my grandmother's 90th birthday!! Now that's a milestone! And let me tell you - she is still very sharp, still drives and I swear has more energy than me! I told her that I really hope I have her genes!!

We had a lovely dinner party with about 20 people out at a restaurant that she really likes. It was quite a special day and my grandmother had a huge smile on her face the whole time. :)

Here's a pic of the birthday girl with all of her grandchildren (and a soon to be great-grandchild!)

And here's a picture of all the most important people in my life...xoxo

A New Food

This past weekend I got together with all of my college roommates at one of the girls condos in Connecticut. We haven't all gotten together since we went to Boston in November, which is just way too long to go without seeing your best friends! It was a great girls weekend spent with lots of talking and catching up, a trip to a winery (who knew there is a Connecticut Wine Trail) and some great outlet shopping (although being in a Coach store with a wine buzz is dangerous!)

I even tried a new type of food this weekend! We went to an awesome dinner on Saturday night at a tapas restaurant called Barcelona. I've never eaten tapas before, but it was delicious! It's fun with a group of people because you order a bunch of appetizer sized dishes so you get to try a lot of different things! Two pitchers of sangria later and lots of yummy food, I'd say it was excellent! The chain is only in Connecticut though, so I'll have to find some good tapas restaurants in NJ. Ahh it was such a nice weekend with the girls...some pics to come shortly

Cookie Update

I thought I would give a quick cookie update. It seems that everyone in my office is getting Girl Scout cookies, and it is very painful to keep getting offered cookies and to see boxes of my favorite Samoas and Thin Mints sitting on people's desks! At least Easter is getting closer and soon I will be able to eat cookies!!

One thing that's helping is that while grocery shopping I noticed that Edy's makes limited edition Girl Scout cookie ice cream. So of course I had to buy the Samoas one AND the Thin Mints one - yum!
